FOR AUTHORS
Preparing the Manuscript The purpose of the Guide to Authors is to provide instructions and guidelines that will assist authors, editors, and reviewers in preparing material for publication in JORIET T. The style guidelines presented here should be followed by authors preparing a scientific research papers for publication in JORIET. Manuscripts that do not adhere to the following instructions will be returned to the corresponding author for technical revision before undergoing peer review.
Papers should be in English, double spaced and single sided on A4 paper with NORMAL margins. Every manuscript submitted should be clearly labeled as being either: Research Article or Review Article. Structure papers as follows:
Title Page Should contain: • Title and full names of all authors • corresponding author's name • Full postal address • Telephone • Fax /email • Abstract, No more than 250 words that adequately describe the work and highlight its significance. The abstract should include only text. Avoid as much as possible, the use of abbreviations and references. • Keywords Include up to six keywords that describe your paper for indexing and for web searches.
Text Main headings should be typed in capitals, subheadings in lower case. Both types of heading should be underlined. Footnotes should be avoided. Equations should be typewritten and with the number placed in parentheses at the right margin. Reference to the equation should use the form 'Eq. (3). Tables, Figures & Illustrations Large and complex tables, figures and maps should be avoided in the main paper. Figures or photographs (all termed “Figure”) should be saved in a neutral data format such as JPEG, TIFF or EPS. PowerPoint and Word graphics are unsuitable for reproduction. Any tables and figures that are included in the main text of the paper should be numbered separately (Table 1, Figure 1….) in the sequence that they are mentioned in the text. All text should be clearly legible, and all graphics and legends should be easily distinguished when printed in black and white. Tables should use horizontal lines only, with only blank space to separate columns Notes under each table and figure should be used to explain and specify the source of all data shown. XYZ Citing and Listing References This should follow APA style in general.

Articles are published under the terms of a Creative Commons license which permits use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

Dear Colleagues,
Journal of Research in Engineering Technology (JORIET) is inviting applications for the Best PhD Thesis Award. This award is to recognize young scholars for producing outstanding PhD theses in the field of Engineering Technology. The applications will be assessed by an evaluation committee led by the Editor-in-Chief if the journal.
Eligibility and Requirements
The candidate must be a PhD student or recently qualified PhD who has produced an outstanding PhD thesis;
- The PhD thesis must be their original work;
- The PhD thesis must be defended in 2025.
Required Application Documents
- An executive summary of the PhD thesis in English of around 3000 words;
- A letter from the PhD supervisor recommending the candidate for consideration for this award;
The candidate’s Requirements
- CV to include a list of publications connected with the thesis;
- An electronic copy of the PhD thesis;
- A scanned copy of the PhD diploma.
The Prize
- $500;
- A certificate;
- A voucher to waive the Article Processing Charges (APCs) for one submission in the journal (subject to peer review)— valid for one year.
